“God’s
Will for You and Me.”
By

Have you ever wondered what God’s will is for you? Maybe you have thought in terms of a preacher, teacher, or Doctor…maybe an engineer?
Jesus gave us a good list of things God wills
for us when He gave us the Lord’s Prayer. Let’s consider how this prayer
reveals God’s will for us.
“Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy
Name.”
God wants us to recognize and acknowledge Him
for who He is and to praise Him. If we do this it opens up for us all His
blessings to follow.
“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as
it is in Heaven.”
God created the Earth and all that is
therein…including you and me.
Our sin corrupted the World, yet God’s will is
that it be restored, both the world and our devotion.
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
This not only refers to the food we eat, but to
all our needs…physical, mental, and spiritual. He wants us to feed on His word,
and …
He wants for us all that keeps us alive and happy in body, mind, and spirit.
“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us.”
We can not continue to exist with God in our
sinful state, so His will is for us to be cleansed of our sin, washed as white
as snow. This is why He sent Jesus to die for our sins. We must forgive others
because not forgiving shuts out the reception of God’s forgiveness to us.
“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from
evil.”
When we disobey God, we give Satan the authority
to insert evil into our souls. God wants us to reside with Him…not Satan…and to
do that we must remove the evil from our hearts.
“For thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the
Glory forever, Amen.”
His will is that we end up where we
started…praising Him; acknowledging that He is all-powerful and that the
Kingdom and the power and the glory are His, and His alone.
We are the children of God and His will is that we
will all, sooner or later, come home.
