THE FREE CLINIC OF ROME

The Free Clinic of Rome is beginning its third year of operation with plans to
expand services to two nights per month.

Anyone who feels called to volunteer may contact Steve Pruett at spruett8@comcast.net .

If you are a nurse and would like to help, contact Lucy Megginson at teammegginson@yahoo.com.

If you would like to provide a light meal for our (15-20) volunteers one night,
drop Betsy an email at espruett@comcast.net

The addition of this second night means we will need many volunteers to help make this work.
Don't be afraid to step up to the plate.  You may volunteer for a six month or a twelve month period

FREE CLINIC ADDS DENTAL COMPONENT TO MISSION

Dr. Randy Green has led the development of a dental service at the Free Clinic, sponsored by the
Rome/Floyd County Dental Society, and the Northwest Regional Health Department.
Dr. Green has worked in close cooperation with Dr. Charles Roszel, Director of Dental Services.

Five local dentists have volunteered their professional expertise in this mission to those who
otherwise could not afford dental care.

The service is now limited to dental extractions only, a much needed service according to
Randy Roberson, Residency Director at the Family Practice Program.
Services are by referral only through a roll coordinated at the Family Practice Clinic office.
Referrals are also taken through the Emergency Room at Floyd Medical Center and
Redmond Regional Hospital.

Dr. Green is a long-time member of our congregation, and has made out-of-country mission trips,
as well as helped with local efforts here in Rome.

Dr. Roszel has graciously allowed our church to contract for use of the new, fully equipped dental
van at the Salvation Army Shelter for up to two evenings per month.
He provides a driver and a dental aid, as well as volunteers his personal time in supervision
of this new mission project.
